In business, best practices can only get us so far. Sometimes, the insight we need must come from God. The Bible is full of accounts of God providing direction or solutions to his people. God gave Joseph the interpretation of Pharaoh’s dream, leading to a plan that saved Egypt (and the world) from famine. His management of resources created national prosperity and secured Pharaoh’s trust. (Gen. 41:33–57) After a night of failure, Jesus told Peter, an accomplished fisherman, what to do to catch fish when nothing was working. This led to a haul of fish so great they had to bring in another business to help manage the inventory. (Luke 5:1–7) God gave Jacob an unconventional breeding strategy that caused his flocks to multiply, making him wealthier than his employer, Laban. (Gen. 30:43) Learn to recognize how God speaks, and what to do about it. This is the believer’s advantage.

He and his wife, Rebecca, operate a thriving education business that has been serving parents and students in their community for over 23 years, continuing its strong legacy of helping young people grow and succeed. Michael also serves as a Regional Executive Director of Operations for the largest employee care service provider in the marketplace, where he leads teams of more than 70 people supporting nearly 150 businesses across Southern Virginia and Northern North Carolina. In addition to his current work, Michael has pastored in the region and served extensively in international student ministry. His background also includes launching small businesses, holding executive roles in global companies, and serving on staff with a large multi-site church focused on global missions. Michael finds his passion and skill converge in helping people hear God’s voice for their own lives and their spheres of influence. He has trained, activated, and led both domestically and internationally, finding his greatest joy in being a conduit for others to encounter God and walk confidently in their purpose. 

Having lived and worked around the world—from the Middle East to South Asia—Michael now calls Chesapeake, Virginia home. He holds degrees in Business Administration and a graduate degree in Divinity & Intercultural Studies from Regent University and serves on the boards of several nonprofits making a global impact. Michael and Rebecca, a Professor at Virginia Wesleyan University, have been married for 16 years and have four energetic children—Nathan, Asher, Anya, and Naomi. His heart’s desire is to see lives and nations transformed by the power of the Gospel.
